2009 Family Summer Vacation Mammoth, CA

Every summer, my entire family gets together for a vacation. This is a major event- 2 large cabins, 8 to 10 SUVs and mini vans, TONS of food, and close to 40 people. This year we went to Mammoth, CA. The kids had a blast! Here are some pics from the trip.

This was our first time geocaching If you have GPS on your phone, you should try it out! There are almost 1 million geocaches around the world. You go to the website and get the GPS coordinates to where ever you are visiting. Once you find the location, you start looking under rocks or bushes and look for a box. The box contains a log inside of all the people who have found it. The box also contains trinkets, small toys, coins, buttons, etc. You take something from the box and leave something behind. The kids totally loved it, they thought it was treasure hunting! This huge stamp mill wheel was one of the geocach spots in the middle of the forest. It was used during the CA gold rush and then abandoned.

While we were in Mammoth, we took a trip over to Bodie, CA. This is Americas most preserved ghost town. Once a booming town during the gold rush (population over 10K), it is now a state park and only 5% of the town is still standing. A great photography location but not a good idea with small children!

Orange County children's photography session - San Jaun Capistrano Mission, CA

Orange County Portrait Photographer

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this family. We were going to do the whole entire family - but things didn't work out with the husbands - so we ended up just doing the cousins. It was so fun seeing everyone. There were a total of 7 adults - all for three kids. :) We were a sight. :)

Taking the kids to the dentist

One of my best friends' dad is a dentist. It turns out he is one of the best pediatric dentists in the world! His office is made for kids! Video games, TV screens playing cartoons in every room, and even a real salt water aquarium with "Finding Nemo" fish for the kids. (they loved it) He is located in Huntington Beach. Here is his website.

As soon as they asked Tyler to open his mouth, he closed his eyes and started snoring!
They told us that they had never seen a kid try this, not bad for a 2 1/2 yr old, huh?!

The good Doctor figured out how to wake him up very nicely. We expected loud screaming but he never even cried! Dr. Mungo is an amazing dentist. If you live near HB and your kids hate the dentist, look him up!

Cody doesn't have any teeth yet but we couldn't leave him out of this post!

Baby Photography Plans

We've known this couple since 2006 (after shooting their wedding) We've been lucky enough to keep in touch and have gotten to photograph their first and second sons. We met this little man as a newborn, and we'll see him again for his 6 and 12 month! If you've never heard of our baby plans, be sure to get in touch with me for more info. LDS Temple Wedding Photography in Newport Beach, CA

Newport Beach Wedding Photography

We seriously had the hardest time narrowing down the photos from this wedding. It was a long day with multiple locations and so many of the shots were keepers! I grew up with the bride and her family so this wedding hardly felt like work. Her dad actually delivered my babies. One of the sweetest families out there! Seriously. It's so much fun to shoot a wedding where you know half of the guests! Here is a very long post of a really fun day.

Coming out of the Temple - can you tell how happy they are? :)

Since the Newport Temple doesn't really have shade, we took the family/wedding party photos at another location.

The couple knew right away that they needed the crazy booth- they dedicated a room just for this and had white drapes put up. It worked perfectly. :)
